All Roads Lead To Caulfield!
Jul 14, 2017
Well he's back!, Lord Of The Sky for his fourth straight attempt at the Monash Stakes at Caulfield tomorrow afternoon.
The Group 3 race over 1000m has seen the son of Danerich already taste victory back in 2014 and last year was a creditable fourth after coming back from injury.
Lord Of The Sky will be ridden tomorrow by our loyal stable track/ race rider in Aaron Lynch who has ridden the horse track work since he was a baby and knows the horse inside out.
Lord Of The Sky was fitted up nicely with a strong trial win back on the 4th July at Cranbourne with D Oliver in the saddle scoring by 4 lengths.
Trainer Rob Laing does warn punters tomorrow that Lord Of The Sky may be just short of one run but he is brilliant has drawn barrier 1 and is by far the best horse in the race.
As it has been well documented Lord Of The Sky was to be retired to stud after his last preparation but as no deals could be closed Laing thought why not bring the horse back into work and he seems to have come back bigger ans stronger than ever.
This could be the start of a big final 6 months for 2017 with Laing Racing as we are just on the eve of the Melbourne Spring Carnival.
All going well from tomorrow Lord Of The Sky will then head to the Group 3 Blethingly Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield and then we start Group 1 racing in August where Laing Racing will have many runners over the feature races.
To mention just a few, outstanding race filly Missrock has returned to work following her slashing 2nd in the Group 1 Goodwood Handicap in Adelaide and will be set for the major Group 1 sprints over the carnival.
Rosehill Guineas placegetter So Si Bon will be Caulfield Cup nominated and looks a real force for this spring along with some up and coming rising three year olds who look classic types in Evil Cry and Pissaro for the Derby while Uptown Gal for the Oaks.
Not forgetting our recent international purchase in Darabad who has been gelded and looks a real stayer of the future here in Melbourne.
So exciting times here at Laing Racing and if you want to wet your appetite for the upcoming spring head out to Caulfield tomorrow and cheer home Lord Of The Sky.
Happy Punting and have a great weekend!
